The Neolun and the GV60 Magma are two new concepts that Hyundai Motor Company’s luxury vehicle subsidiary, Genesis, unveiled at the Genesis House in New York. The Neolun Concept suggests a high-end luxury SUV, and the GV60 Magma presents Genesis’s latest performance project. The Neolun concept, which will be Genesis’s first full-size electric SUV, is expected to be a luxury vehicle when it launches.

Specifically, the SUV is based on the Neolun Concept, which is inspired by the famous moon-shaped porcelain jars from Korea. The Greek term “neo,” which means new, and the Latin word “luna,” which means moon, are combined to form the name “Neolun”. Chief Creative Officer of Genesis, Luc Donckerwolke, states that “the Neolun Concept embodies timeless design and exquisite craftsmanship.”

A retractable roof rack and Genesis’s recognizable twin-line headlights and taillights that blend in perfectly with the body are among the exterior design features. The striking two-tone combination of Majestic Blue and Midnight Black on the car’s exterior is inspired by the Korean night sky.

Furthermore, when a door opens, electric side steps immediately activate. Another feature of the Neolun Concept is the lack of a B-pillar, which makes it easier to enter either front or rear-hinged coach doors. It seems unlikely, though, that such fascinating features and functions will find their way into the production-spec model.

The Neolun Concept’s interior is intended to be an opulent two-row cabin with captain chairs situated in the second row. A retracted huge screen for the amusement of rear passengers complements the swivel capabilities of the front row seats. Together with a wood floor, the cabin is furnished with Royal Indigo cashmere and Purple Silk leather upholstery.

Among the other features is an inventive heating system that uses heated films that are applied to different surfaces inside the cabin. According to Genesis, this design guarantees effective heat dispersion throughout the car, improving passenger comfort without depending entirely on conventional air vents.

For the time being, specifics about performance, powertrain, and cost are still unknown. Nonetheless, the Neolun concept will make its official premiere at the New York Auto Show this year, and more information is anticipated to be disclosed at that time.
