WATCH: What Ismail Haniyeh, the Leader of Hamas, Did Just Hours Before He Was Assassinated

Just hours before he was assassinated in Iran, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh went to a theme park exhibition that featured locations from the ‘Axis of Resistance’. He was spotted with Ziad al-Nakhaleh, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and allied forces in Syria and Iraq are all part of the “Axis of Resistance,” a coalition of organizations spearheaded by Iran.

The goal of this coalition is to counterbalance Western influence in the region, especially that of the US and Israel. The alliance advocates for a Middle East free from outside influence in an effort to offset what it perceives to be these nations’ hostility and meddling. Iran is a major contributor of financial support, training, and military help to other members.

A video of Haniyeh’s visit, taken just hours before he passed away, has been made available by Iranian media. He might be seen chatting with reporters.

An airstrike on the building where the Hamas leader and one of his bodyguards were staying on Wednesday morning resulted in their deaths. Haniyeh was in Tehran on Tuesday for Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian’s inauguration.

The incident is Israel’s fault, according to Hamas. “This assassination of Brother Haniyeh by the Israeli occupation is a grave escalation that aims to break the will of Hamas,” a statement from senior Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri read.

In reaction to Hamas’s offensive on southern Israel on October 7, Israel had already threatened to assassinate Haniyeh and other organization officials. Since then, 90,923 people have been injured and about 39,400 people have died as a result of Israel’s attack on Gaza.

Prior to this, on April 10 of this year, an Israeli airstrike murdered Haniyeh’s three sons: Hazem, Amir, and Mohammad. Haniyeh also lost four of his grandchildren, three girls and one boy, according to Hamas.
