Inside Out 2 hit $1 billion worldwide at the box office In 2024

The Pixar film “Inside Out 2” is the top grossing film of the year and is dominating the box office.

Walt Disney Co. DIS.N said on Sunday that the movie became the fastest animated picture in history to achieve the $1 billion milestone at the global box office in less than three weeks after its release. Additionally, this year’s film is the only one to surpass the $1 billion milestone.

In the summer of 2015, the first “Inside Out” grossed approximately $90 million on its opening weekend and reached a global total of $858.8 million.

The original 2015 animated comedy “Inside Out” created an incredibly accessible film by delving into the complicated mind of young Riley and showcasing a wide range of vibrant emotions that she was trying to control for her benefit.

The first “Inside Out” concluded with Riley turning twelve. A year later, the sequel picks up with Riley (now voiced by Kensington Tallman) and her primary emotions, Joy (Amy Poehler), Anger (Lewis Black), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Tony Hale), and Disgust (Liza Lapira).

Inside Out 2 has a current domestic total of $355 million, which puts it above of all 2024 films in North America. In terms of global sales, it has surpassed Dune: Part Two’s $711 million total and now ranks first with $724 million.

It is now expected to exceed $1 billion within the next week or two. Furthermore, it is predicted to outperform the original Inside Out ($858 million) after the next weekend, despite competing with A Quiet Place: Day One.

July will also see some big competition from two other billion-dollar projects, Despicable Me 4 and Deadpool & Wolverine. However, Inside Out 2 is anticipated to hold its own for the next month.

It is unclear whether it will remain at the top of the table in 2024. Aside from the two aforementioned summer contenders, Disney’s own Moana 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King also have a chance to surpass it.
